Winter camping – are we mad? Well it’s on the rise like never before. When looking at Devon’s MET office statistics, October and November tend to be just as warm, if not warmer than March and April. Did you know you’re also more likely to encounter frost in April than you are in December?
The shorter days are the perfect excuse to cosy up next to the fire with friends and family or to explore the beautiful surroundings of Hidden Valley Park. With the change of seasons everything has taken on a more autumnal colour and the lake and woods surrounding our site are looking more magical than ever.
If camping out this Christmas isn’t for you, how about staying in one of our cosy forest lodges? Each lodge sleeps four and comes with everything you could need including; a comfortable lounge area with free-sat TV, a spacious shower room and kitchen/diner equipped with cooker, hob, microwave and fridge-freezer. If you’re visiting family in nearby towns such as Ilfracombe or Barnstaple, our holiday lodges could make the perfect base for a short stay in a lovely location. Alternatively if you just want to get away from it all and have a relaxing and quiet break, our lodges are sure to make a cosy location for a unique Christmas.
If you’re one of those people who would never consider taking a winter camping break then maybe we can still help you out. Since our campsite is open all year round, we provide the ideal location for storing your caravan. Why use up extra fuel and time towing your caravan, when you can safely store it at our Devon park? Given 24 hours’ notice and a small towing charge (£3.50 each way), we can move your vehicle to a pitch of your choice, ready for arrival. Perfect for those last minute holiday plans!
Whether or not you’ll be braving the great outdoors this winter, we hope to see you at Hidden Valley soon!
